More Than a Survivor

Hi, I’m Kimberly H. Coleman—a self-acceptance advocate, speaker, and  ostomate, raising awareness for colorectal cancer, trauma recovery, disability, ostomy, colorectal cancer, disability and 

embracing life with an ostomy.

My journey has been quite full. From surviving childhood trauma and Stage 2 Colorectal Cancer in 2015 which included receiving my temporary ostomy, affectionately named Toodles, I have spent nearly a decade redefining what beauty, strength, and healing can look like.

In the moments of fear and uncertainty, I made the choice to not only, live but  to live out loud for however long my life may be. In the past 10 years, I have been able to spend extra time with my family, & friends, travel to various countries, speak, perform, model and be published both, across the country & internationally. 

This spring was comprised of competing for Miss Texas USA at 56, representing people with ostomies, chronic illness, and disabilities on a major stage. In addition to being selected to be an  “Honorary Observer” for the Cologuard Classic Golf Tournament in Arizona, raising awareness for Colorectal Cancer and Ostomies from Arizona to Virginia, while also legislating on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. The topper on the cake was skydiving  with my husband of 26 years from 14,000 feet for my 57th Birthday.

My platform is rooted in grace, support, community, and advocacy.
