I'm Kimberly H. Coleman, a colorectal cancer survivor, ostomate, and speaker who has spent a decade proving that visibility is the advocacy.
In 2015, at 47, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 colorectal cancer. A temporary ostomy I named Toodles became permanent. What began as learning to live in a body I didn't recognize became a platform rooted in grace, craft, and showing up, in front of legislators, on runways, on stages, and alongside the patients and families this disease touches.
In the last year alone, I competed for Miss Texas USA at 56, served as Honorary Observer for the Cologuard Classic, advocated on Capitol Hill for colorectal cancer and ostomy legislation, and skydived from 14,000 feet with my husband of 26 years for my 57th birthday.
Every room that sees Toodles is a room that can't look away from the 150,000 Americans diagnosed with colorectal cancer and roughly 100,000 new ostomy surgeries happen each year. That's the work.
If your mission aligns with mine, I'd be honored to connect.
My mission is to make colorectal cancer and ostomy life visible, in public, in policy, and in the lives of the newly diagnosed, so no one faces this journey hidden or alone.
You can send me a message or ask me a general question using this form.
Looking forward to connecting with you.
